Nocturnal is an album of nightly synth and tapeloop improvisations recorded onto questionable mediums and dusty devices between 2016-20 in various locations.
All pieces performed with monosynths, assorted fx and tape decks.
From the hopeful glimmer of "Hillside" to the warped landscape of "Hymn Magnetique", the microworld of "Blue Hour" to the liminal loop labyrinth of "Shifts" and the glow-in-the-dark finale of the worm-like "Nocturnal Counterpoint"… this collection of nightly improvisations, though recorded in different spaces and in very different points in time, incapsulates in many ways Window Magic's essence: The melting of time through creation of a fuzzy counterworld, at times familiar, at times mangled and under magic spells, at times scattered and pieced back together upside down, unfolding its layers slowly but steadily under the microscope that is your headphones.
