"Phasing in and out, glittering and sparkling, the music of Window Magic cannot be grasped... It shines like a gem, radiating enough heat to supply and drip-feed positive energy to tired, spiritless minds." ~ A Closer Listen
"Listening to this is like being wrapped up in a knitted jumper, it's warm and comforting even if it does get a little scratchy, however this only adds more to its charm." ~ The Opinion
"Wonderful lo-fi collages and mystical soundscapes." ~ Fromheretillnow
"Well Kept Era" feels radiant to me. Picked up somewhere amongst the scattered tape boxes, the dusty and trusty synths, pedals and reverberation units during late nights and early mornings.
Recorded with C-60s, transistor amps, analog mono + polysynths, tape loops, effect units and a reel to reel machine.
Created in real-time. No multi-tracking, no overdubs.
Fragments composed, captured and assembled from 2012-14
Recorded straight to tape over the course of 3 weeks in early 2015
Tape manipulation and instruments by Andreas Bonkowski
The front cover is a scene from the play
"Bien-être" by Claude Gauvreau, 1947
